Why I Created Sentir: A Story About Scent, Stillness, and Starting Again

By the founder of Sentir

It began, as most important things do, in the quiet.

In 2020, like so many people around the world, I found myself slowed down. Life as I knew it — fast, full, forward-charging — had paused. At first, it felt like a kind of loss. But soon, that stillness revealed something unexpected: space to feel. And in that space, I rediscovered something I had forgotten I loved — fragrance.

I wasn’t just drawn to how it smelled, but how it made me feel. The way scent could lift a day, transport a mood, pull a memory from thin air. A spritz of something soft and floral could make me feel open, light. Something warm and smoky gave me calm, or courage. Fragrance, I realised, was a way to be present — fully, emotionally present.

And I wasn’t the only one feeling that pull.

As the world reeled from uncertainty, people around me were searching for grounding rituals. They were rethinking what mattered. I began dreaming about creating something honest and intentional — something beautiful not just in form, but in feeling.

That’s how Sentir was born.

The word sentir means “to feel” — in both French and Spanish. It captures the very essence of why I started this journey. I didn’t want to create just another perfume brand. I wanted to create a language of emotion through scent.

Designing for Emotion, Not Just Style

Each Sentir fragrance is a story — not mine, but potentially yours.

  • Mon Soleil is joy made radiant; it reminds me of light returning after a dark season.
  • Amber Brûlé wraps you in warmth, like a late-night conversation with someone you trust.
  • Bombe de Mimosa is a defiant burst of brightness — unapologetic and alive.

They’re not gendered. They’re not trend-driven. They’re created to be worn by anyone who resonates with the emotion they carry.

And they’re made in the UK, by hand, with vegan and cruelty-free formulas. Because I believe beauty and responsibility can (and should) go together.

Why I Keep Creating

Because I believe the right fragrance does more than smell good.
It can ground you. Empower you. Remind you of who you are — or who you’re becoming.

Sentir is my invitation to feel more deeply, to move more intentionally, and to return — again and again — to the quiet wisdom of the senses.

Welcome to the journey.
